Diaspora Film Festival X Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival
The Toronto Reel Asian International Film Festival is Canada¡¯s largest pan-Asian film festival dedicated to showcasing contemporary Asian and Asian diasporic cinema taking place annually in November. Reel Asian is a non-profit charitable organization whose mandate is to nurture our local creatives, serve our community members and engage audiences by putting together a memorable festival featuring gala events, screenings, exhibitions, forums, workshops, and parties. Founded in 1997 by producer Anita Lee who noticed a need to champion pan-Asian and Asian Canadian talent, Reel Asian is celebrating its milestone 30th anniversary this year with the festival taking place from November 11th to 29th, 2026.
Reel Asian exists alongside a vibrant community of Canadian festival and media arts organizations who we are grateful towards for providing mutual knowledge-sharing, support, collaboration, and encouragement. Similarly, we are appreciative to cultivate this meaningful relationship with Diaspora Film Festival whose mandate and spirit feels akin to Reel Asian¡¯s. We are excited by the possible openings for understanding, dialogue, and collaboration through sharing films and feelings.
