DIAFF 2024
DIAFF 12th (2024)
Closing Film & Audience¡¯s Choice Award
Among the 30 short films invited to the DIAFF through the contest, the two most popular films voted by the audience members on site will be screened as the closing films. Also, 300 million Korean won will be awarded to the directors of the films for future film productions.
In celebration of the 12th DIAFF, various programs including performances, outdoor screenings, and experiences will be held at the Central Plaza Incheon Art Platform to enjoy the film festival. You are cordially invited to the space of hospitality to let go of all the exhaustion you feel in daily life.
The board game ¡°DIA-Ground¡± will be formed in Hospitality Square in a form resembling the game ¡°Monopoly.¡± All film festival visitors may participate, and event games for prizes and sponsor item giveaways will be held at certain times. Let¡¯s go on a trip around the world by throwing the dice!
This year¡¯s DIA-LIBRARY has gathered all the written works of Professor Suh Kyung-sik, who was a Zainichi Korean scholar and DIAFF consultant who passed away last December. He was a Zainichi Korean who floated across the borders of Joseon, Korea, and Japan, and enlightened us to the significance of coexistence through the senses of a diaspora member. Find out about his journey through his words and writings that seem even more original today.
Make precious memories of fun times at the photo booth ¡°DIA-Moment¡± prepared by DIAFF. ¡°DIA-Moment¡± can be freely used by anybody who visits the film festival.
DIA-Picnic was prepared through collaborations with famous local restaurants in Incheon and features booths where delicious food and beverages can be enjoyed. Special DJing performances and various events on the spot have been prepared, so make a visit with your friends and family and enjoy the DIA picnic.

The DIAFF has always posed questions about the entities and values beyond this world. In that case, what are the borders of film? Now, video content hovers between spaces, shapes, and platforms, and is making provocations by breaking through the conventional forms of film. That also applies to this year¡¯s DIAFF. The ¡°diasporic practices¡± implemented by the directors or artists are erasing the borders within cinema and are expanding in ev er-changing ways. By gathering such films in one place and screening them in theaters and exhibition halls, the DIAFF will once again ask questions about the existential meaning of films. (Hyuksang Ksan LEE)
