An 80-year-old retired writer nurses his paralyzed wife. Despite efforts to find a female caregiver, it is Fabiu, a Hungarian male nurse, who ends up giving him a hand. The writer, who is at first wary of the young, foreign-born newcomer, becomes impressed by Fabiu¡¯s adept nursing skills. The writer soon realizes his repressed longing and takes a closer look at him. On one hand, the film talks about the prejudice against Eastern European immigrants, but on the other hand, it deals more with covert prejudice deeply embedded in society. The audience is encouraged to pay attention to the way Fabiu tolerates and makes sense of the writer rather than how Fabiu receives the writer¡¯s clumsy and one-sided self-expressions. (LEE Dong-yun)
