Chinese-Korean director, ZHANG Lu, is a cinéaste making films with a unique regional and spatial focus. This time, he spreads out a mysterious story of sudden fantasy set in Fukuoka, Japan. Je-moon, an owner of a second-hand bookshop in Seoul, travels to Fukuoka, Japan with So-dam, a regular customer of his, who entices him to travel with her. In Fukuoka, they meet Hae-hyo, Je-moon's friend from college who is now running a bar. 28 years ago, Soon-yi fell in love with both Je-moon and Hae-hyo, but also left them at the same time. The two, still possessed by their lullaby of love, live alone. So-dam acts as a new bridge for their relationship as Soon-yi did in the past. As So-dam said, the two are eventually the same, and maybe that is why they quarrel even more. Even though they have been very far apart, maybe they have always been in the same space, holding on dearly to the ghost of Soon-yi. For this reason, the bookshop and bar emotionally resonate under Soon-yi's influence despite the geographical distance. This film is able to capture that magical moment. (KIM Kyung-tae)
